Want to lend a hand? Pacific Bonsai Museum is always looking for volunteers to help us inspire visitors to take a closer look at nature through the living art of bonsai. Areas of volunteering include bonsai work, events, grounds maintenance, administrative help, and docenting. Winter Bonsai Solstice
Imagine a winter evening where tiny trees come alive with twinkling lights, where nature’s delicate artistry meets seasonal enchantment.
- Monday, November 30 | 10A – 2P: Put out lights
- Friday, December 11 | 10A – 2 P: Set-up
- Saturday, December 12 | 3:30 – 8P: Event Day (docent, welcome tent, museum store, parking attendants, security, and floaters), and Cleanup

Museum Docents
If you have 4 to 8 hours a month and want to share your passion for bonsai with others, consider joining Pacific Bonsai Museum’s team of Volunteer Docents.
Pacific Bonsai Museum Docents help people connect with nature, lead small group tours, assist with Bonsai Basic classes, and talk with in-person museum visitors from all walks of life, from all over the world. As a docent, you will receive specialized training, behind-the-scenes experiences, and ongoing opportunities to learn about bonsai, the collection, teaching, and learning. All you need to bring is dependability, professionalism, excellent verbal communication skills, a commitment to anti-racism and inclusivity, plus an enthusiasm for bonsai, nature, teaching, and listening. These positions are best suited for those who are 18+ years of age.

Bonsai Care
Bonsai volunteers have prior bonsai experience and love all aspects of bonsai care. We need the most help with tasks such as weeding and general clean up.
Grounds Maintenance (ON-going)
Love getting your hands dirty and working outdoors? Pacific Bonsai Museum has extensive trails, garden beds and outdoor displays that need regular care.
