Reading Room

READING ROOM
Thanks to many generous donors, our book collection has been growing over the years into an informal reading room. Now, we find ourselves with an impressive collection of rare and hard-to-find books on bonsai (as well as on associated arts of ikebana, suiseki, etc.) from Japan, China, Australia, the U.S., and elsewhere. These books contain beautiful images; and it’s likely that you have never seen these before–because typically they are not available digitally. They are a treat to behold for anyone, but especially if you are a keen student of bonsai.
Our reading room is open to members-only. If you are a member and you’d like to browse the books and stay and read or do research, we invite you to our small library. Visits are by appointment only.

To make an appointment:
Please email info@pacificbonsaimuseum.org to request an appointment. Reading Room hours will be the same as our regular Museum hours (Tuesdays through Sunday, 10am to 4pm) but keeping in mind that we occasionally need to close the Museum due to extreme weather or special events. Our homepage will be the place where you would see closure information.
If you are not yet a member but would like to become one and take advantage of this member-benefit and many more, read about membership levels and join here!
