Pacific Bonsai Museum offers field trips that provide a beautiful and enriching way for students to connect with nature and learn about the art of bonsai. During the field trip, students engage in activities that develop their understanding and experience of art concepts and skills through creating, responding, and connecting to bonsai. We offer an arts-based curriculum, as well as a STEM-focused curriculum for you to choose between.

You will find our program aligns well with the Washington Art standards and Common Core Listening and Speaking standards. We also provide pre- and post-visit lesson plans to enhance your students’ learning and experiences.

In-Person Field Trips

With the help of a team of University of Washington Museology Interns, an exciting Field Trip experience has been created that focuses on S.T.E.A.M-based education. Particularly aimed at 5th grade level, but easily adapted for groups younger and older, our Field Trip visitors are asked to become Junior Bonsai Horticulturalists and will be given a tour and adventure booklets filled with one hour worth of exploration.
